= Notable entries = == Page 47 == Note that finding and searching these records can be quite challenging so I will record the process as well as the result. I first stumbled upon a reference to a John Echols of Cotaco County (later known as Morgan County and known location of a John Echols) in [https://huntsvillehistorycollection.org/hhc/vl/docs/Valley_Leaves_v12n02_Dec_1977.pdf?a=vl Valley Leaves] (A Tennessee Valley Genealogical Society). Then, I searched the [https://archives.limestonecounty-al.gov/list_records/record_search.php?query=&select_contents=deed&select_matching=containing&page=323 Limestone County Master List] to find "Deeds Vol 01" and navigated to [https://asp.aquariusimaging.com/aqweb/Document.aspx?initialpage=47 Page 47] (the actual digitized images are stored in an odd format on a random-sounding domain; however, they follow are found via an official .gov county archives website). {{Quote| State of Alabama Limestone County Know all men by these presents that I John Echols of Cotaco County and State aforesaid have this day bargained sold and delivered unto James C. Moore a certain Negro Girl known by the name of Jenny thirteen years old for and in consideration of the one half of a certain lot or quarter section of land lying and being in the County of Limestone, in Range No. 4 Township No. 4 the being half of the north East quarter of section seventeen which said lot or quarter section is to be divided by a north and south line, and said Moore to have the west Β½ part of said quarter section above described for and in consideration of which I the said John Echols doth warrant and forever defend the said Negro Jenny to the said James C. Moore and his heirs &c. Forever in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal affixed my seal this 18th day November 1819. John Echols Witness John Calvin Acknowledged before me this 23rd day of November 1820 J. Smith }} Source: [https://asp.aquariusimaging.com/aqweb/Document.aspx?initialpage=47 AquariusImaging] (this document link is directly from the Limestone County website, as described above)
