This Indenture made this Twentyfifth Day of August in the year of our Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred and Fifty Five Between John Echols of Bedford County of the one part , and James Turner Junr of the same County of the other Part Witnesseth that the said John Echols for and in consideration of the Just a hell Sum of Fifty Pounds Current Money of Virginia to him in hand paid by the said James Turner Junrthe Receipt whereof he the said John Ecknots doth hereby acknowledge hath given granted bargained and sold , and by these presents doth give grant bargain sell deliver and ( 45 confirm to him the said James Turner Junr his Heirs and assigns for Ever , One Certain Tract or Parcel of Land situate lying and being in the County aforesaid on both sides of the South Fork of Little Otter River contain ing One Hundred and forty seven Acres , and Bounded as by a Patent granted Aaron Burlesson , Reference thereto being had will at large appear and by him convey 'd to the said John Echols one of the parties to these Presents , Reference being had to the Records of the County of Lunenburg will furthermore Appear . together with all and singular the priviledges and appurtenances thereunto belonging or in anywise appertaining To have and to hold , the above sold Land and premises with all the appurtenances to him the said James Turner Junr his Heirs and assigns for Ever . To have hold use occupy possess and enjoy the same with every part and Parcel thereof to him the said James Turner Jun his Heirs and Assigns forever , against him the said John Eckholshis Heirs or assigns and against the claim and demand of all Other Persons whatsoever shall and will by these presents warrant and for ever defend . In witness whereof he the said John Endshath hereunto set his hand and seal the Day and year first above written . John Echols L. S. Memorandum that on the Day and year first within and it and peaceable possession and Seisin of the within mentioned eth the appurtenances was given and made by John Echols to James Turner Jun. according to the Effect of the O within written Deed . John Echols At a Court held for Bedford County August the 25th 1755 . This Indenture and the memorandum of Livery of Seizin thereon endorsed were acknowledged by John Eckhole party thereto , and Elizabeth the Wife of the said John personally appeared in Court , and being first privily examined as the Law directs , voluntarily relinquished her right of Dower conveyed by the said Indenture , which together with the said Indenture are , ordered to be Recorded Teste Ben Howard of B.C.
