Personally appeared before me, W. [T?]. Shell Clerk Circuit Court in and for said County, Mrs. L A Echols who, being duly sworn, upon oath, says that her husband, John W Echols was a Private in Company I of 1st Regiment of Ala, Cavalry; that he came to his death from wounds received or disease contracted in the service of the Confederate States, and that his death occurred during the late war or within five years thereafter; that she has not since remarried; that she was a resident of Alabama on the 13th day of February, 1891, and is a resident at the date of this application; and that her taxable property does not exceed four hundred dollars in value.
SWORN To and subscribed before me, this 2 day of April 1892.

Personally appeared before me, J J Gilmore Justice of the peace in and for said County, Mrs. L A Echols who, being duly sworn, upon oath, says that her husband, J W Echols was a privet in Company [I?] of (1) Regiment of Cavalry of Ala; that he came to his death from wounds received or disease contracted in the service of the Confederate States, and that his death occurred during the late war or within five years thereafter; that she has not since remarried; that she was a resident of Alabama on the 13th day of February, 1891, and is a resident at the date of this application; and that her taxable property does not exceed four hundred dollars in value.

Echols who being by me duly sworn, deposes, and says under oath: That she is the widow of J W Echols: That her said husband was a private in company I of 1st Regiment Ala: and that, he did not desert the service of this State or Confederate States: That he was killed or died of disease or from wounds during or since said war: That she has not since re-married: that she is now a bona fide resident of Alabama and her post office address is Shell Ala. That her taxable property consists of [mtthing?] and is not worth in the aggregate more than five hundred dollars; and that her salary or gross income does not amount to five hundred dollars per year. And she hereby makes application for relief under said act.
