Note that there are more columns (such as book, page, date of instrument, etc) and rows than the ones above. There are also reverse records of the same kind as above (see morgancountyprobate), although they do not contain anything interesting as far as I can tell.
The original Henry Wilkes (p. 690) and Martha Deans (p. 698) records should be here: FamilySearch. I cannot find the expected section on page 690 but there is this on p. 698-700:
This indenture made and entered into between Samuel Moore Echols and his Wife Jane of Morgan County and State of Alabama of the one part and Henry Wilkes Guardian for Martha Deans Wife of Peterson Deans and her Children of the other party Witnesseth that for an in consideration of the sum of four hundred and six Dollars paid to us by Henry Wilkes, Guardian ? by the hands of Peterson Deans out of the (next page) funds or property provided by the last Will and Testament of the James Wilkes, late deed for the seperate use and hence fir for the said Martha Deans and her Children, we have bargained, granted, and sold, and by these presents do bargain, grant and sell unto the said Henry Wilkes, Guardian for the sole use and benefit of the said Martha Deans and her Children according to the provisions of the Will of the said James Wilkes deed which is on record in the County Court of Morgan County Alabama, the following Certificates and Patents for Land viz. One Cirtificate dated 16th May 1840 for the E 1/2 N 1/2 W 1/2 N.E. 1/4 Section 22 Township 6 Range 1 W signed James C? Watkins R & R One dated 1st May 1839 for W 1/2 N 1/2 W 1/2 N.E. One other Patent No 9258 for the South West Quarter of the South East Quarter Section Fifteen in Township Six of Range One West in the District of Lands subject to Sale at Huntsville Alabama containing Thirty Nine Acres and Seventy Hundredths of an Acre, signed Andrew Jackson President of the United States of America an dated 10th September 1838. Building on these Huntsville references, there is also a Huntsville tract book (FamilySearch) which lists both "John Echols" and "James Echols", both in "Sect. No 8 of Township No 7 of Range no 2 cont 160 60/100 Acres".
