Obe Satterwhite Will
In the same of God amen I Obe Satterwhite of the County of Chambers and State of Alabama of Sound disposing mind & memory and knowing and believing it is appropriate for man to die do dispose of my worldly effects & Estate as follows first of all I commend my soul to God who gave it & my body to be buried in a Christian like manner.
Item I give to my beloved wife Polly Satterwhite the use & control of all my Estate after my just debts are paid, both Real & personal consisting of my land & plantation whereon we now live say four hundred & sixty acres and seven slaves to wit Nole a woman Joe a yellow man & for a black boy Simon a boy Harriete a Girl, Henry a bot, and Morse a boy & their increase together with all my household & kitchen furniture stocks of every description with the rest residue of my Estate & Effects whatever to her my said wife Polly Satterwhite for and during her natural life time and at her Death it is my will and I do give & direct that the whole of the aforesaid Estate both real and personal be Equally divided between my four children here after named Shars? Thiar? alike in the following manner one fourth to Nancy Daniel wife of John Daniel & her children forever. one fourth to Martha Echols wife of Samuel Echols and her children for ever, one fourth to Lucy Echols wife of John Echols and her children for-ever- and the remaining fourth to my son John Satterwhite & his children for-ever-
Item, Lastly I do nominate, constitute and appoint- my wife Polly Satterwhite Executrix and my son John Satterwhite Executor of this my last- will and Testament Reverting all former wills by me made Ratifying & declaring This to be my last- In Testimony where I Obe Satterwhite do here write set my hand and seal this 17th May A. D. 1833

Personally came into open Court- A L Robinson and [M?] [W?] Carlisle two of the subscribing witnesses to the foregoing will who being duly sworn desposeth and saith that- Oba Satterwhite the testator above named Signed Sealed and deliverence The foregoing instrument- in their presence and in the presence of J B Robinson the other subscribing witness on the day the same bears date that- they severally subscribed Their names to the same in the presence of the Testator and at his special Request- and that- according to their best impression the said Testator at the Time of executing the same was of sound and disposing mind and memory
